The mindful methodology is a practice rooted in empathy and understanding. It combines mental well-being and evidence-based improvement strategies to solve complex challenges. Clients build design thinking skills by following a proven methodology to unlock creative problem-solving.

As a coach, I provide the expertise, guidance, and support needed to effectively implement mindful methodologies, driving innovation, improving human experiences, and ultimately contributing to achieving a goal that initially felt out of reach, too complex, and overly expensive.

2013, Moved to Austin by way of Melbourne, Australia (by way of the UK, by way of place of origin, Canada) to explore the art of the possible through mindful design methods.
2013, During a summer artist residency at the Banff Centre, Jess designed a prototype that empowers citizens to co-design walkable neighborhoods.
2013, Launched a series of weekend-long events called SheHacksATX and SheDesignsATX to connect female technologists with female startup founders.
2014, Brings together a team of volunteers to produce the first women-in-tech magazine in Austin.
2015, Launched a professional women's practice series to help direct career decisions by applying design methods.
2016, Spoke at Austin Design Week, a five-day event focused on getting Austinites thinking about how design can help solve city problems.
2016, Launched a series of day-long life design workshops in Dripping Springs.
2016, Began to explore how VR technology can help to unlock new ways of experiencing the world around us and ourselves.
2016, Conducts the first future visioning workshop with Latinitas, a non-profit focused on empowering young women and girls in East Austin.
2017, Joined as a coach supporting Bloomberg iTeams to solve local complex problems through design thinking methodologies.
2018, The first three-day life design retreat in Old West Austin. Emphasizing human-centered design principles for a mindful life.
2019, Taught immersive experience design to adult learners as an Instructor at General Assembly.
2019, Became a certified Barre instructor at Green Bird Fitness near Dripping Springs, TX.
2019, Joined a team of facilitators working with Voltage Control to facilitate multiple 5-day design sprints with SOCOM.
2020, Spoke at Legal Week in NYC on how VR is a tool for developing confidence and empathy.
2020, Held a weekend-long event (practicing responsible social distancing) to build a tool for Austin to get the word out about COVID to the homeless population.
2020, Designed self-guided method cards for life-long learning.
2024, Presented a published academic poster on transformational change through participatory design at HCI International in Washington, DC.
